Questions and answers about our counseling practice.

How long have you been in practice?
We have been in practice for over 40 years.
  What is your philosophy?
We believe individuals and families can make meaningful changes in their lives when they have compassionate support, good information, healthy attitudes and interpersonal skills. We provide our clients with the things they need to resolve their issues and make healthy choices.
  What are your credentials?
Tom has a Master of Theology degree and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Judy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy.
What are your hours of operation?
We have regular office hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
How much does it cost. What are your fees?
Our fee is $150.00 per hour.  Sessions are generally one hour.  Longer sessions are available upon request.

Our fee for team counseling is $250.00 per hour.  Team counseling offers the benefit of two counselors, two perspectives and two different styles.

Will my medical insurance cover your services?
No.  We are not a part of any insurance network.  We accept all major credit cards, checks and cash.  Sessions are payable at the time of the session.
If I want to make an appointment will I have to wait several weeks to get in?
In most cases you will be able to schedule an appointment within a week.
  Is your office handicap accessible?
No. Our office is not wheelchair accessible although the bathrooms are handicap accessible.
How long are your counseling sessions and how often do you meet with clients?
Counseling sessions are typically one hour in length.  Longer sessions may be scheduled based on the need of a situation. In the beginning it is recommended that sessions be made on a weekly basis if at all possible.  We recommend not going any longer than two weeks between sessions in the beginning.  Waiting longer than two weeks can lead to repeated first sessions and slow down momentum.
How many sessions are required to solve marriage or family problems?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions.  The number of sessions required to solve marriage or family problems is dependent on many variables.  We will discuss the variables with you and will work with you to find solutions.  We approach the counselor/client relationship as a team.

What type of payments do you accept?

Cash, Check, Master Card, Visa, and Discover Card.
