I went to Italy and Greece with my then 14 year old grandson Christopher on a school sponsored trip	We took a smaller plane from Minneapolis to Philadelphia which suited Christopher just fine	Christopher and me on the plane. He really loved this smaller plane for his first time in the air	Flying high

Flying high above the clouds	Christopher by the window	TV monitors showed our route from Philadelphia to Frankfurt Germany where we had a layover	Almost to Frankfurt

A frankfurter in Frankfurt for my dad whose family came from Germany	We flew Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Rome Italy	Our two attendants were wonderful. Believe it or not I hugged them both when we left the plane	We arrived in Rome at Carousel number 9 only to learn our luggage had been lost

Our hotel was the Hotel Florida	The view outside my first hotel room in Rome	It was exciting to be here	Looking out the window my first morning in Rome

There was a street market set up outside our hotel. Christopher is doing some shopping	Christopher and I could have stayed here a long time but the tour bus was leaving	Our first site on the tour was the Colosseum now one of the seven wonders of the world	Christopher and me outside the colosseum
